In 1998, two broke and hungry kids dropped out of college to start a business. Twenty-one years later, with offices in eight states and thousands of worksite employees, we sold our regional PEO to a nationwide provider.

Those 21 years as PEO professional service providers were fraught with everyday business concerns and unprecedented challenges. We dealt with varying daily demands, wore a multitude of hats, hired, terminated, promoted, and supported our employees and those of our clients. We learned by doing—as HR professionals, PEOs, business owners, entrepreneurs, and CEOs. Our experience was undoubtedly much like yours.

Looking back, there are a million things we could have done better had we not been young with zero experience. But what we did well in the beginning, and what I believe we still do better than any competitor we've ever had, is what propelled us to an acquisition and what got me excited about starting The PEO Advisor:
